Hole 2
Number
two can be treacherous if you have difficulty navigating around the
dogleg
right which occurs between the 150 and 200 yard markers. However, two
well played shots can just as easily leave a short iron or pitch shot
into
the green
that slopes from back to front. Keep it below the hole!
The McBroom redesign added yards to this hole for blue tee hitters, and completely changed the look of the hole for everyone. The trees that previously protected the dogleg (and in recent years all but ruled out reaching the green in two) were replaced with a set of bunkers. This hole now offers much better risk/reward for golfers at all levels. Closer in to the green, more bunkers have been added and the fairway has been sculpted to improve drainage and make play more interesting. The cart path now goes around the back of the green from the left side.
