Whitevale Golf Club Recognizes Member for Three Holes-in-One this Season

Bob TennysonToronto, Ontario, October 19, 2004 — Whitevale Golf Club members recognized the achievements of member Bob Tennyson, who recently scored his third ace of the year. Tennyson scored aces on holes 4, 14 and 16 at Whitevale this summer. “I just felt that I was going to get the third one even before I started my round”, Tennyson told his fellow members. “He has just been so accurate with his irons, and seemed confident that he was going to hit it close on every par three hole”, agreed long time friends and playing partners, Herb Sage and Dave Convery, who witnessed two of the aces. Tennyson is 56 years old and has been a member of Whitevale for 24 years.

Tony Wilkins, Whitevale Club Professional stated “I believe this is the first time a player has ever recorded three holes-in-one at Whitevale in a single season, and to do it on three different holes is quite a feat.”

Tennyson was disappointed that he would not get an opportunity to complete the cycle and score a hole-in-one on the 9th hole this season, the only one he has missed. The front nine is now closed as Whitevale Golf Club has engaged Thomas McBroom and Associates to design and oversee a major renovation of the course. But Tennyson is ready to try again next May when the front nine will be back in play.

Whitevale Golf Club is a member-owned equity golf club, located just 30 minutes from downtown Toronto. Whitevale was built in 1959 on the banks of Duffins Creek near the Hamlet of Whitevale. In 1999 the members purchased the lands from the Ontario government, converting it into a private, equity golf club.
