Whitevale Golf Club Hires Alex Maggiacomo as General Manager
Toronto,
Ontario, January 25, 2006 — Whitevale
Golf Club, a member-owned equity golf club in the Pickering area, this
week announced the appointment of Alex Maggiacomo as General Manager.
In his new role, Maggiacomo will assume responsibility for all golf club
operations including the golf course, the clubhouse and facilities, and
all related staff. Maggiacomo will report to Karen Martin, President
of Whitevale Golf Club.
Martin said, “We are delighted to welcome Alex Maggiacomo to Whitevale Golf Club as our new General Manager. His experience will be a great asset to us as we move forward with our recently redesigned golf course and begin on the planning for clubhouse improvements.”
Maggiacomo’s golf career began at The Toronto Golf Club, while attending the University of Toronto. In the mid 1990’s Maggiacomo was the General Manager for Castlemore Golf & Country Club, owned and operated by IntraCorp Developments. Most recently Maggiacomo was the General Manager for The Club at Bond Head, a new 36-hole facility. “The next 3 to 5 years will be a very exciting time at Whitevale Golf Club. With Thomas McBroom’s golf course redesign nearing completion and with the proposal to construct a new clubhouse, Whitevale Golf Club is positioning itself to be one of the preferred private clubs in Ontario”, said Maggiacomo.
Whitevale was built in 1959 on the banks of Duffins Creek in Pickering. In 1999, the course was purchased from the Ontario government. Whitevale Golf Club is a member-owned equity golf club, located just 30 minutes from downtown Toronto.
