We need your help! We are looking for Silent Auction items. Do you have any sporting event tickets? Are you able to provide a gift card from a local business or something else? Or do you have a contact at another golf course to obtain some passes? Any golf-related items, apparel, electronics, wine, alcohol, etc. are some things we would also love to have. We are grateful for any items to help our auction be successful.

Please contact Kandice at kandicebrackenbury67@gmail.com to donate!

Finally, our 2025 Longest Day of Golf page is now live! Check often for updates as we add information leading up to the big day!

The bunker crew is making good progress on the front 9 and will be transitioning to the Practice Facility bunkers this week to clean them out and prep them for concrete. Unfortunately, they will be out of service for the next few weeks.

Concrete pouring will likely begin next week. Starting on holes 2 and 3. In order to expedite this process, concrete trucks will be staged by the Backshop, close to the cart path leading to 2 green. Some parking spots will be blocked off on the days they are pouring.

Fairway aerification should be completed by the end of this week, and we will begin aerating Tee decks next week. If the blocks are off while you play, please hit from anywhere on the tee.

We have started removing bunker boards and stakes around some of the first bunkers to be renovated. You will know that a bunker will be open for play once rakes have been provided. Please remember to enter and exit the bunkers on the flattest spots and avoid climbing steep faces.

Just a couple of quick updates for the week ahead!

Our popular Fish & Chips feature will be available this Friday, as always. The Saturday BBQ will go ahead weather permitting, so fingers crossed for sunshine!

We're thrilled to share that both our Mother's Day Brunch and Dinner are officially sold out! A big thank you to everyone who booked early - we can't wait to celebrate with you.

For members who are golfing on Mother's Day (May 11th), please note that we'll be running a limited menu throughout the day and our regular Prime Rib Dinner will not be available. You can view the limited menu in detail by clicking the image to the left. Since the regular menu won't be available, draft and tall cans of Coors Light, Canadian and Moosehead will be available at the clubhouse at a flat rate of $6.00.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support!

Hip Forward, Head Back

Perhaps the most important part of the swing is the transition, that crucial moment when the club changes direction and begins moving toward the ball. Just before your shoulders have completed their turn on the backswing, your lead hip should begin initiating this transition. First, it needs to move laterally, toward the target, until it's stacked over top of your front foot. Once there, its job is to now rotate or “clear” out of the way. While the hips are moving laterally, it's crucial your head resists following along. The more it moves prematurely forward, the more likely your shot will be compromised. Someone guilty of making this mistake may experience thinned shots, abnormally low ball flight, and, generally, inconsistent contact. So as your lower body moves dynamically forward during the transition, your head needs to stay back, behind the ball. The moment the ball is struck, then let your head release toward the target so you can swing freely through to a full finish. “Hip forward, head back” is a great thought to focus on during the transition.
