Just a friendly reminder that if you are unable to attend the upcoming Special Meeting to vote on the On Course Washroom Proposal, you can still make your voice heard by appointing a proxyholder.

To ensure your vote is counted, please complete, sign, and deliver your Proxy form. You have a few options for submission:

  • By Mail or In-Person: Mail to, or drop it off at the Office.

  • By Email: Send it to scrutineer@whitevalegolfclub.com (please use the subject line: “Proxy Form - Confidential”).

The deadline for submitting your proxy is 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6th.

For more detailed information about the proposal and the voting process, we encourage you to review the previously distributed Notice of Special Meeting and the Town Hall PowerPoint presentation. These documents contain comprehensive details that may help inform your decision.

Events
  • Mechanical issues have challenged us with the Rough, some areas are much longer than ideal, please be patient as we try to catch up.
  • The appearance and ball roll on greens will continue to improve as the poa seedhead phase begins to come to an end.
  • The newly renovated bunkers are beginning to firm up, but the faces are still soft. Be aware of the possibility of increased “fried egg” lies. Please be patient as we continue to firm up faces and find a balance between the correct amount of sand and firmness.
  • If you are applying aerosol bug spray or sunscreen, please remember to do this over asphalt and not over the turf, especially greens, tees or fairways.
  • We will begin strategic mowing of the naturalized areas next week to help increase pace of play, and manage weed and tick populations.

Add Some Bounce

If you're having trouble holing those round defining short putts, pay attention to the length of your stroke. The most common mistake I see is when someone's backswing is too long. If you're facing a 4 foot putt, for example, and swing back proportionate to having a 15 footer, you'll now be forced to decelerate the putter head through the ball to prevent the putt from sailing 10 feet past the hole. Also not recommended is the combination of too short a backswing matched up with an exaggeratedly long finish, where the putter head basically follows the ball up to the hole.

Your goal on all putts should be to make each side of your stroke equal in length, the sign of a pure swing motion. So, the closer you are to the hole, the more compact and concise each side of the swing needs to be.
