WEEK OF AUGUST 7th
Events
  • Topdressing of greens will take place this week and next during the scheduled maintenance days, weather permitting, sand will be brushed into the canopy once dry.
  • Please be careful when walking on the greens and avoid dragging your feet or pivoting sharply, especially if wearing a golf shoe with an aggressive tread (see pic).
  • Staff will be working diligently over the next two to four weeks removing bunker boards and continuing to add sand into the bunkers.
  • Bunkers will start opening on August 15th. A reminder that the bunker is "open for play" once all bunker boards and stakes have been removed and there are bunker rakes available for member use.
  • The addition of sand will be on-going once the bunkers are open as the sand settles and firms up

Unfortunately, we regret to inform you that the “Burger & Brew” event scheduled for Saturday, August 9th has been cancelled due to low attendance. We’ll look to bring it back in the future with a fresh approach and new energy.

On a brighter note, our new clubhouse menu has officially launched! With the rollout of the new menu, we will be pausing all regular weekly features, including Fish & Chips Fridays, to allow everyone to enjoy and explore the new offerings. However, our ever-popular Sunday Prime Rib Dinner will continue.

Please be advised that Prime Rib has been selling out every week, so reservations are strongly recommended. When booking your table, please include in the notes that you would like Prime Rib, so our kitchen can prepare accordingly.

Also, don’t forget — our Spring Honey, harvested right here at Whitevale, is available for $12 per jar. A sweet way to bring a little taste of the course home with you.

We can’t wait for you to experience the new menu and look forward to welcoming you at the Clubhouse!

Playing from the New Bunkers

We’re getting closer to having all the new bunkers in play. Currently, as the sand settles, it’s important to realise, they are playing differently than they will in the future. Expediting the settling process requires keeping them moist. The moisture makes the sand more resistant to the club passing through it. Consequently, it requires more energy to get the ball out of the sand. I think this has surprised many golfers who were expecting their sand wedge to glide effortlessly through the new sand. Be patient, in time this will be the case. For now, be prepared on your explosion shots to make a fuller, committed swing to get yourself safely out of our bunkers and onto the green.
