Important Message - Theft at Whitevale

We want to make all members aware that there has been a recent increase in thefts reported at golf facilities across Ontario — including the incident at the club. We are actively working with all those affected to support a resolution.

Similar reports from various facilities have experienced personal items being stolen right out of golf bags while unattended - whether while carts are staged, parked during warm-up, or even as golfers are out playing on the course.

Given the number of instances that have occurred in the past week alone, we believe it is important to share this reminder and encourage everyone to remain vigilant about anyone on the property.

Stay aware and take care.

Last Week to Sign Up – October Blast!

The countdown is on for our biggest celebration of the season — the October Blast, happening on Saturday, October 25th!

  • Cost: $78++
  • Doors open at 5:00 pm
  • Entertainment: The Blackboard Blues Band — one of the GTA’s most dynamic R&B groups. Known for their incredible energy and musicianship, they’ll be performing a lively mix of classic soul, funk, rock, and blues hits from the 60s right up to today. Whether you’re on the dance floor or just soaking in the atmosphere, it’s guaranteed to be an evening full of great food, great music, and great company.

Please note that Saturday, October 18th is the final day to sign up.

For members who have already registered, please inform Fareena of any allergies or dietary restrictions so the culinary team can accommodate your needs.

To prepare for the event, the clubhouse will close at 3:00 pm on October 25th for setup. The halfway house will remain open for all food and beverage needs throughout the afternoon.

Menu Update

Due to a recent increase in the cost of romaine lettuce, Chef has chosen to substitute baby kale in its place. This change will not affect pricing and will still deliver the same quality and freshness you’ve come to expect from our kitchen.

As always, for reservations, event sign-ups, or feedback, please contact Fareena by email or in person.

We look forward to celebrating the end of the season with you and can’t wait to make the October Blast a night to remember!

Keep the Flow

A good way to keep the flow of your swing moving and tie all the separate pieces of your swing into one unified whole is to focus on the trail knee (right knee for righties) while your clubhead passes through impact. As the clubhead begins descending toward the ball on the downswing, engage your trail knee so it’s smoothly moving toward the target as the clubhead is striking the ball. You want this movement to be smooth and unforced, exactly synched up with the motion of the clubhead. When this move is done correctly, your rhythm and timing will be maximized and the sum your swing will be greater than its parts. As well, for someone who tends to get stuck on his/her trail hip at impact (the dreaded reverse pivot), moving the knee through properly is a great way of overcoming that nasty tendency.

Whitevale Winter Academy

Soon after the course closes, you’ll be able to take lessons, book practice sessions, and play sim rounds downstairs in the Whitevale clubhouse. As the year continues to wind down, I’ll provide more information on programs and costs. In the meantime, keeping enjoying the fresh air and the colourful leaves that characterize fall golf at Whitevale.
