1.15 Handicap Compliance for Club Events
Members that have a Handicap Compliance of less than 90% will not be permitted to play in designated club events. Handicap Compliance shall be calculated on a cumulative basis commencing at the beginning of each Active Season, on April 15 and ending on October 31.
“Handicap Compliance” shall be calculated as a percentage (1 – (# of No Scores/Total Counting Scores)) where “Total Counting Scores” are defined as those games where the individual is on the tee sheet at Whitevale and excludes games played at other golf courses (non-Whitevale) or where the Pro Shop has been notified by the individual and entered exceptions such as scrambles, not posting score due to injury, or other special notifications.
When a player does not post a score, an automatic system generated “No Score” is entered for that player the day after play. 48 hours after play, if a score is not posted, an automatic system generated email will be issued to the player advising that a score is missing and that the player must post the score with the correct date of play by the end of day. Upon posting the score with the correct date played, the “No Score” will be replaced with the score posted.
Failure to post a score, may render a player ineligible to play in club designated events as the player may fall below the 90% compliance. Members will need to play enough games to remove the impact of “No Scores” to meet Handicap Compliance of 90% and become eligible for designated club events.
Handicap Compliance is reviewed by the Pro Shop weekly. Following the review, any participant for the immediate upcoming event, that does not meet the 90% Handicap Compliance will be contacted by the Pro Shop to advise of their ineligibility. Exceptional circumstances such as a new member without handicap, will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Individuals that wish to play fun games where a score cannot be posted i.e.: scrambles, three club event, must advise the Pro Shop immediately, that they will not be posting a score so that the Pro Shop can update the tee sheet appropriately and prevent the system generated “No Score” / email advising that a score is required. Failure to advise the Pro Shop in a timely manner, will result in the “No Score” and possible falling below the 90% Handicap Compliance.
