3.2 Achievement Awards
Whitevale Golf Club has two awards that recognize the achievements of its members, both past and present.
Annually, the Jack Boyes Award may be given to an existing member or members who have had significant achievements in golf in the current season, or to a member or members who have provided an outstanding contribution to the Club in the current season. This award is given in honour of an existing member of the Wall of Fame, as approved by the Board of Directors.
Every five years, members may be added to the Whitevale Wall of Fame to recognize their achievements over multiple years at the Club. Like the Jack Boyes award, additions to the Wall of Fame may be given for significant golf achievements or for significant contributions to the Club.
Each year an awards committee is formed to research any potential new candidates to be given the annual Jack Boyes Award. Every five years, that committee may also select candidates for inclusion in the Wall of Fame. The awards committee is selected by the President and consists of the President, the Captain and at least three long-standing equity members.
Members may nominate potential candidates by submitting a letter to the office listing the candidate's name(s) and a brief summary of their accomplishments.
Upon selection by the awards committee, the choices are forwarded to the Board of Directors for approval, after which they are announced to the membership.
