3.9 Junior Scholarship
This scholarship program, which may have an annual award of up to $1,000, is available to members’ children and grandchildren only. The junior/intermediate member must remain a member in good standing in order for the student to apply in each succeeding year for the scholarship.
Each year’s application is independent of the prior years, and a junior member must have at least one year’s seniority with the Club as a member in the year of application.
Applicants must be at least high school seniors preparing to enter an accredited community college or university in the fall term, and attain a minimum average of 75% in the last year of high school.
The decision of the Selection Committee of the Golf Club including the General Manager, Club President, Head Golf Professional and Club Captain, is final and not open to appeals.
The Golf Club reserves the right to withdraw a scholarship should the student’s parent(s) or guardian(s) voluntarily leave the Club or if membership is terminated for just cause prior to the start of the school year.
Responsibilities and obligations of the winner:
Each scholarship recipient must present Whitevale Golf Club with proof of acceptance by the community or trade colleges, or university before receiving the award.
The scholarship recipient is completely responsible for ensuring that the institution of choice meets the eligible criteria of the program.
Scholarship winners who maintain satisfactory scholastic records, as defined by their selected institution, are eligible to re-apply for the award for the second year and must provide grade transcripts to Whitevale Golf Club in order to be considered.
The Whitevale Selection Committee, which has the full authority to make rules and regulations governing the program, administers the Whitevale Golf Club Scholarship Program. The Club assumes no responsibility for the conduct, personal affairs or debts of the scholarship recipients. Please contact the office for a full application form.
