4.13 Senior Honorary Associate Membership
The purpose of this policy is to describe Senior Honorary Associate Membership, one type of Associate Membership.
Senior Honorary Associate Membership provides longer term members of Whitevale a means of continuing their association with the Club and continuing to play golf, even though they may have a reduced ability or desire to play.
To join the Senior Honorary Associate Membership category, an Equity Member must meet the following three qualifications:
- be 65 years of age or greater;
- have a combined age plus years of Whitevale membership totalling 110 or greater; and
- have been an Equity Member in good standing for a minimum of 10 consecutive years immediately preceding the change in membership category.
Equity Members who meet the above qualifications shall apply in writing to the Board of Directors for Senior Honorary Associate status prior to transferring their membership. Entry into the category is at the discretion of the Board of Directors. When pre-approval is granted and after the Equity Member has successfully transferred their equity membership, they will be placed into the Senior Honorary Associate Membership category.
Golfing Privileges
Two levels of Senior Honorary Associate Membership exist: the standard level and the premium level.
All Senior Honorary Associate Members have full 5-day access to the golf course and limited weekend and holiday access, subject to any other tee time restrictions that may be in effect. Specifically, they:
- may place ballots in the tee time lottery, 8 days in advance of the date of play;
- may book tee times on any day Monday through Friday at any time;
- may book tee times on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays starting at 4:30 p.m; and
- may play in weekend events open to this category on the calendar, after 12 p.m. and on payment of the full guest fee.
In addition, a Senior Honorary Associate Member may play as a guest of an Equity Member or Intermediate Associate Member, up to six times per year at the full guest fee, subject to the guest booking restrictions in effect from time to time.
Fees & Expenses
Standard level Senior Honorary Associate Members pay an annual administrative fee (waived for those 85 years of age and over). Premium level Senior Honorary Associate Members pay a larger administrative fee. All Senior Honorary Associate Members pay a greens fee for every round played at a rate equivalent to 65% of the regular published guest fees, without limit on the number of rounds played. Annual membership fees in effect may be found in the Membership Fee Schedule.
Senior Honorary members are not required to pay a minimum food & beverage charge and do not pay assessments.
