Signing Up for a Tournament or an Event

All Club tournaments and events are listed in the Program Guide under the Golf Tab, and in the event calendar and event descriptions on this website. (There are also a few informal events at Whitevale that are operated by individual members and therefore fall outside these procedures.)

If you are unfamiliar with the event you have selected, the first thing you should do is read about it, and if you have any questions, ask other Whitevale members or the Pro Shop staff. While most of the information will be pretty straightforward, it is possible that an event may require you to play on more than one day, may require you to sign up as part of a group, or may have some other criteria.

You must have a valid handicap before signing up for any event. Please be sure to post all of your scores so your compliance is at the 95% needed to participate in club events.

First select the event from the website calendar and then click on the button which says "Register Now". A registration section will appear and you will be able to complete your registration there. Periodically, listings of those who have registered may be printed and shown along with the event information in the respective locker room in the Clubhouse. Those who lack Internet access may add their names manually in the Pro Shop; the staff will do the registration for them. Do not book a tee time for the event as this will be done for you.

Make sure that you know your tee time before the day of play and show up at the Club with enough time to spare, in case minor changes in tee off occur. If you decide to withdraw from an event, please do it far enough in advance that it will not affect others who may be in your group. Please note that a 48-hour cancellation policy is in effect for all club events. If you cancel within the 48-hour time frame you will be responsible to cover the entry fee and food & beverage fee for that particular event.

Turn your event scores in to the Pro Shop immediately following the round. The Pro Shop staff will compute winners, and prepare the event statistics for distribution. They will also post scores in the handicap system on your behalf, should that be required.
